Kendra also had her pups. They were born on August 16.  There is 7 tri-colored pups. 4 girl, 3 boys. They are also ready for reservation. If interested, call or text 931-698-9719. Here is a quick pic of them. I will take individual pics when they get a little older.

 

 

 

Waitin' on the new arrivals!

We are excited to annouce that we have 3 new litters on the way.  There will be tri-colored, probably some lemon pups, and possably some chocolate pups.   Here are pics of the pairs of dams and sires.  



First up we have Penny and Sam. Sam is the patriarch of all the beagles and never fails to dissapoint me with the best beagle pups around! Penny is my beagle that produced the rare chocolate pups. She has also had tri-colored and lemon pups, so her litter is always a suprise. 

 

 

 

 

Next we have Molly and Cowboy. Molly is a beautifully marked small beagle. She is always the best momma! Cowboy is the newest member of the pack. He is a lemon beagle so there should be lemons in this litter.

 

 

 

Last but not least we have Kendra and Copper. Copper is the son of Sam and Molly and is perfect according to beagle standards. He also has awesome markings and has the best personality to boot! Kendra is the one beagle I have that looks a little different. She has more of the "hunting" beagle look  than the "show" beagle look. I have never done this breeding before so I am excited about what the outcome will be.

Long Time No See

I know, I know, it's been a while since I posted.  Things have been slow around Dixie Hills Kennels lately with no new pups. All that is going to change, though, here in about 2 months.  If all goes as expected, we will have 3 new litters around the middle/end of July.  Each of these are from different pairs of parents and I am excited about each one. When I get the chance, I will be posting pictures of the pairs.  I will leave you today with a video clip of Dusty.  He is the only pup I have left.  Dusty is the most laid-back beagle pup you will ever see. Dusty is a male tri-colored 12 week old pup.  I can say that he is, with out a doubt, the sweetest pup I have ever had from a litter. He loves to be held and cuddled and will just lay on his back in your lap. He is a teddy bear!  He has 2 different people that wanted him but backed out for one reason or another that had nothing to do with him. Whoever gets this pup will have an awesome beagle!

 

 

 

 

Mandy is Dusty's sister. She is also a tri-colored 12-week old pup.  Mandy was the pup in the litter that was always getting picked on.  She is shy and quiet but she will love you once she gets to know you.  She is sensitive and listens well. Always eager to please, a firm word is all she needs to know she is doing something unacceptable.  Mandy would be a great addition to your family and I think would thrive with more passive companions than her brothers and sisters. :-)

Quick Update

Hope everyone is enjoying the wonderful spring weather!  I can tell you for sure that everyone here at Dixie Hills Kennels is!  Just poppin' in to bring you up to date on the available pups.  The pups left are Bonnie, Mandy, and Lucy.  Just scroll down to previous posts to view pics and video clips of them.  I will hopefully get the chance this weekend to take new pics.  Also, I still have Grace left from Kendra's litter. Outgoing or Shy?

Which type of personality does your beagle have?  For the most part, beagles are happy-go-lucky dogs that love people of all ages, even total strangers.  Raising beagle puppies though, I tend to notice that there will be the outgoing pups in the litter, and there will be the shy pups of the litter.  Male or female does not make any difference in this matter.  When people come to pick out their pup, they tend to go for the outgoing friendly pup that is confident about themselves. This may have to do with the fact that the out-going pups are the first to run and meet them when approaching the litter.  The shy pups tend to stay back and watch the new people from a distance- not that they don't love people, they just want to make sure that they are ok before going to greet them.  While everyone loves an outgoing pup, they are not always the best pick.  With a shy pup, it may take longer to make friends, but once you're friends, they will never leave your side. They are all AKC registered and very healthy and happy! They are also mostly house trained using a doggy door which is a big plus when buying a new puppy!

This is Grace. She is bubbly and happy and outgoing!  You can't tell it a whole lot from the pic, but she has beautiful ticking on her front legs!  Take this pretty girl home today!

This is Faith. She has a very mellow and sweet personality! If you want a dog that knows how to chill,  Faith may be the dog for you!  The way it's looking, her whole head will eventually be a lovely soft brown!

This is Holly! She is a very shy girl but is really sweet once you get to know her.  She is the last pup left of Molly's litter and I feel that no one has picked her because of how timid she is.  This is a shame because she is a very sweet girl, and would be easy to train as she is very submissive!  She loves to be held and would love to just sit in your lap once she gets to know you.  Wouldn't you like to take little Holly home?

No, I didn't post a pic of the same pup again. This is Boo, and believe it or not, he's not even from the same litter as Holly. He is the last boy left from Kendra's litter.  It really is remarkable how much he looks like Holly! They would be great together if someone was looking for a boy-and-girl pair of beagles. Boo is mostly black and although he is not big, he has great muscle tone for a puppy!  This may be one strong dude when he is grown! LOL! Boo is your typical beagle puppy- happy, curious, always following his nose into mischief!

Puppy Update

Hello everyone!  All the beagles have been enjoying the warmer weather we have been having this week.  Just wanted to give a quick update on which pups are still available. All the pups are doing great and are about 90% house trained already using a doggy door.  Here are the ones that are left- Holly, Boo, Gracie, and Faith.
